Volunteering 101
Why Volunteer?
Our volunteers say they LOVE being part of Obliteride’s supportive community and giving back in the way that works for them. It’s a great way to take action and help fuel new advances in research and care!
Is There a Job for Me?
Yes! Volunteering is for everyone (12 years and older). Coworkers, neighbors, families, friends, and more. Work a rest stop, cheer for participants, or hand out water! We have short and long shifts, before and during the event, for all abilities.
Can Volunteers Join a Team?
Yes! Volunteers are welcome to be part of an Obliteride team and join riders, walkers, runners, and virtual participants for even more fun and fundraising. Once you register for a volunteer shift, you will receive information on how to join a team.

Want to Fundraise?
We are happy to hear it, because volunteer fundraising makes a big difference for urgently needed breakthroughs! After registering to volunteer, you'll receive instructions to get set up with a personal fundraising page and gain access to helpful resources. You can fundraise for the area of work at Fred Hutch Cancer Center that is most meaningful to you, including a specific disease area, program, researcher, or clinician. Every dollar you raise will fuel discoveries at Fred Hutch, thanks to generous event sponsors and supporters.
