How does it work? How much will I sweat? Why do we Obliteride? Do owls really know everything?
A primer on this year’s reimagined event.
1.How it works: Sign up, join an online team if you’d like, and set up your participant center page. Then, keep an eye on your email. We’ll send a useful toolkit to get you started. Once you get rolling, you have until Saturday, August 8, to complete your activity on your own.
2. What do I get? Great community. Incentives and swag to inspire you and reward your fundraising. A chance to connect with other Obliteriders, Fred Hutch researchers, and more during our online happy hours. Fun challenges and activities. Participation in our Obliteride Glow Orange event. And the occasional cheesy joke because … we can’t help it.
3. Sweat: Pick the speed that works for you! Take it slow or fast. It’s a nice chance to do something for yourself and your community.
4. Why we Obliteride: We Obliteride to make a difference and honor loved ones by supporting lifesaving science. You already know that Fred Hutch is at the vanguard of cancer research. Now, Hutch experts in immunology, infectious disease, and more are also leading the charge against COVID-19 — and they need our support. We know this is a hard time — so don’t sweat your fundraising too much. The most important thing is to join us, have fun, and take action. Together, we will help save and protect lives.
5. Owls: Yes. Maybe? They generally keep six feet of distance. We like that about them.
