Carefully Created Routes

Our family-friendly 5K is on a paved route with mostly foot and bike traffic. Our shared-road bike routes have signage, rest stops, support vehicles, flaggers, and begin with a police escort.

Bike stops offer snacks, drinks, and support. The 5K stop includes water and encouragement. Our volunteers and staff make stops a fun way to recharge!

Support and Gear Vehicles

SAG (support and gear) vehicles track riders on all bike routes. If you need assistance, hail a SAG vehicle or call the emergency number on your wristband.

What We Need From You

To make our day safe and fun, we need help from you.

  • Follow COVID-19 safety protocols: Obliteride is continuously monitoring the latest guidance for COVID-19. For information on the protocols in place for Obliteride 2022, please visit our COVID-19 Safety page.
  • Be prepared: Watch the weather and bring appropriate clothing for rain — and sunblock for sun. Choose and train for the route that works for you. And if anything comes up during your ride or 5K, call support.
  • Stay on your marked route, cooperate with law enforcement, and give right-of-way to emergency vehicles.
  • A helmet is required for ALL bike riders.
  • Educate yourself about cycling safety. Use hand signals to turn and voice to pass, do not wear earphones, and give others sufficient room to ride. Cross railroad tracks at right angles and stay aware of hazardous road conditions.
  • Obliteride is not a race. Some Obliteriders are new to group riding. Come prepared to be patient and helpful.
  • Wear your Obliteride wristband all weekend. It comes in your packet and has the emergency contact number on it.
  • Call 911 in an emergency.

Survivor Program

Recognition before Obliteride, at the Friday Night Party, and on Obliteride Day.

Back of a jersey with survivor names on a sticker

Obliteride strives to recognize and honor all participants who have been diagnosed with cancer, along with their caregivers. We invite you to participate in our program in the way that works for you.

  • Before the event, you may have a survivor badge added to your personal fundraising page. To add this badge:
    1. Log into your Participant Center and navigate to the “Settings” page.
    2. Select “My Responses” and answer the questions “Are you a cancer survivor?” and “Would you like to display a cancer survivor badge on your fundraising page?”
    3. Once you’re done, the badge will appear on your page!
  • During Obliteride weekend, we welcome you to pick up a survivor or caregiver sticker for your shirt or jersey at registration.
  • We will also take a moment to recognize survivors at the event. We invite you to grab a pompom, ring a cowbell, or simply raise your hand from the audience!

Parking and Accommodations

We encourage Obliteriders to carpool and take public transportation.
